A boost for EU science diplomacy capacities

The challenges facing EU foreign policy are increasingly complex and urgent. While Europe possesses remarkable scientific capacities and champions open science, the potential of science and science cooperation to address these challenges remains largely untapped. A significant barrier lies in the lack of communication between the scientific and diplomatic communities. As the world becomes more interconnected, scientific knowledge and networks offer a promising solution. In this context, the EU-funded S4D4C project is supporting EU science diplomacy. By fostering collaboration between experts in foreign and science policy, advisors, science diplomacy professionals, and diplomatic training institutions, the project aims to develop a governance framework, training modules, and recommendations to strengthen the EU’s science diplomacy capacities.
