We disentangle the intertwining between „Memory“ in all the possible forms and diverse understanding of the concept and contemporary politics. The 4EU+ PMC’s existence has witnessed the reaction to the migration crisis, COVID-19 pandemic, and then Russia’s war against Ukraine, which all increased the pressure against the core democratic values. In the context of the general shift of political culture toward illiberalism, „Memory“ as a tool, narrative framework, and discourse play a key role in understanding this change. We want to explore avenues for a possible counter-movement and actions that can be taken to prevent the deepening of this issue.
