Biodiversity protection through offset mechanisms
Provider | Technology Agency of the Czech republic |
Programme | Prostředí pro život II |
Project code | SQ01020268 |
Participants | Faculty of Social Sciences Charles University |
The project focuses on designing public policy measures to protect biodiversity using offset mechanisms. These mechanisms, based on a market-oriented approach, allow society to prevent the decline of current biodiversity levels while not hindering economic development. This innovative solution for biodiversity protection can enhance the resilience of the Czech Republic to the impacts of climate change and improve its attractiveness for business.
The project is designed to propose specific public policy measures that complement or adjust existing practices, based on experiences with implementing offset mechanisms abroad and an analysis of the current compensation schemes in the Czech Republic.
