The aim of the interdisciplinary Newsroom AI project, linking journalism and computer science, is to explore the social impacts of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) elements for generation and distribution of news content in public service media. The project will lead to a more resilient society by applying the latest findings in AI to journalism. It will enable a more efficient way of distributing content so that users are not closed in ‘information bubbles’ while receiving the most relevant news. It will test whether content generation and distribution algorithms can already produce results that are acceptable to human users. As the application guarantor, Czech Radio will gain tools that reduce routine work, enabling it to better investigate and measure impact of news on society.
